After Bombing Iran’s Nuclear Sites, Trump Says: ‘Peace Is the Only Option
American Bombers Hit Iran’s Nuclear Facilities – Trump Urges Tehran to Choose Peace
“Bluff” — that word has echoed repeatedly across Iranian state television since I tuned in to monitor reactions following the U.S. strikes on the country’s nuclear facilities.
One anchor dismissed the severity of the attack, claiming Donald Trump was merely “bluffing” about targeting the Fordo nuclear site. According to the broadcaster, only minor structural damage occurred — specifically, to two entrance and exit tunnels of the facility.
From the outset, Iran’s official media sought to downplay the incident, labeling early coverage of the airstrikes as “unverified.” Morteza Heydari, spokesperson for Qom province’s crisis management team, initially acknowledged that part of Fordo had been hit but quickly reassured that the broader region remained “completely calm.”
Several state-affiliated outlets further minimized public concern by noting that the explosions were “not particularly loud.”
Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have restricted internet access, attributing the disruption to “enemy cyberattacks.” As a result, the usual stream of photos and videos sent to international outlets like the BBC or posted on social media has dwindled. This has forced greater dependence on footage and reporting from Iranian state media — along with the narratives they choose to emphasize.
